EA Might Be Cutting Its Losses With Anthem Game

As all gamers know Anthem was a highly anticipated game in 2019 but never lived up to its reputation. It has almost been 2 years since launch and now is in jeopardy of being trashed by Electronic Arts Inc. Based on a report from Bloomberg, EA will be holding a meeting sometime this week to figure out what they should do with the project. As of right now, Anthem Next/BioWare Austin is a team that was put in place to try and salvage Anthem. With the project in the hands of Bioware Austin now (A team who works on live projects like Star Wars: One Republic), there should be some high hopes that Anthem can be the game everyone was hoping for.

There has always been a lot of talk about what direction Anthem was going in. Information slowly started to be released when project leader Christian Dailey posted in May, on the BioWare Blog. Another post about Loot and Equipment in July and then a final post in October about Javalin Gameplay and Builds. Then all of a sudden Dailey was no longer project leader, he was now working on Dragon age, and the question of whether Anthem was a priority or not really started to sink in.

Obviously everyone is confused on what the next step is for Anthem, including the people at EA. Luckily for us, if the reports are real we will be having an answer sometime this week. BioWare has always made incredible games and I don’t think they would of made Anthem if they didn’t think it could be great, so hopefully it will get its well deserved second chance and thrive once it gets the attention it deserves.
