Nintendo is Bringing the Nostalgia Back

With It being national Pokémon day, I figured I should do a post on yesterday’s news about the newest games coming to the Pokémon Universe. Pokémon has been around for 25 years now and has been a part of many people’s lives, including mine. I can still remember the day when me and my brothers got our first Gameboys and Pokémon games, like seriously, I can still feel the feeling of peeling off the plastic of that little square box. Ah… good times. So naturally, it’s an exciting year for me, especially now that I have children and I can share those memories with them. Also, I can buy Pokémon cards as a grown man and not feel like a child anymore.

Pokémon Dimond and Pearl Remake

Nintendo and Pokémon have always had that nostalgic feel for so many people, and that’s why yesterday was exciting for the Pokémon community. Pokémon announced that it will be remaking Pokémon Dimond and Pearl for the Nintendo Switch, with updated graphics to make the game look and play similar to its current Pokémon games that have been coming out. Now with so much of the Pokémon community being older, since it is now 25 years old, game remakes are a great way to connect with family and friends. In a day and age where rated M video games seem to dominate the gaming world, it’s nice to know that Pokémon and Nintendo are still focused on making gaming fun for everyone.

Pokémon Legends Arceus Announced

Pokémon also announced Pokémon Legends Arceus. You finally get to live out your Pokémon master dream with this beautiful work of art. Just think of traveling to a world full of Pokémon and your one job is to catch them all. You are a Pokémon researcher whose job it is to create the Sinnoh region’s first complete Pokedex. This RPG-style game will have you rethinking how Pokémon came to be. On this journey, you will be in an era before trainers and leagues were even a thought. You will have to catch and fight to survive in a harsh region covered with wild and untamed Pokémon. This game will be released in early 2022 so don’t get too comfortable in the calm and peaceful setting of the new Dimond and Pearl, because once you start playing Pokémon Legends Arceus, you will see Pokémon in a whole new way.

With all this news about Pokémon flowing through the air, it’s hard not to get excited about what’s to come. Unfortunately with Pokémon Brilliant Dimond and Shining pearl coming out in late 2021 and Pokémon Legends Arceus not coming out until early 2022, we will be forced to wait. Luckily for us, there will always be Pokémon cards to collect and games to play, or even Anime to watch. With it being the 25th year of Pokémon I’m sure there is more to come.
